Women’s Press project

Canadian publisher's website

We met with team members and stakeholders in CSPI’s Toronto offices to determine their needs. From that we built a spec, mockups and design proofs for a custom web application built in Ruby on Rails that met the needs of the companies various corporate divisions.

From that, we built a website and admin control panel application that features: imports of book and author information from Onix XML; sales of print books, ebooks, and book chapters; integration with the Cantook platform; Stripe ecommerce; Flexpaper pdf viewing; a custom admin control panel; full text and advanced search; routing of contact form to appropriate team members and sales reps based on institution, province or country; importing of coursepack article information from CSV for use by professors in building coursepacks; an RSS to Newsletter feature; and more.

Gordon is amazing to work with. He is always incredibly prompt in responding to queries both during development and after the site launched; he makes sure everyone is clear on exactly what is needed at each stage of development; he is patient, professional, and extremely helpful. Best of all, Gordon is a brilliant website developer and he did truly outstanding work for us. The websites he developed for our publishing business are friendly, beautifully designed, and they do it all, from customization of books and secure book previews through to sales of books, ebooks and ebook chapters. These are the best publisher websites I have ever seen, period.
