Atlantic Publishers Marketing Association Catalog Generation Application project

The Atlantic Publishers Marketing Association wanted a tool that could efficiently generate print catalogues from nothing more than a list of ISBNs. We developed a Ruby-language command line application that processes a CSV containing ISBNs and some auxiliary details not available in Onix data. It then seeks out book details and cover images Booknet Canada’s API where necessary. AN HTML file of the catalogue is then generated , from which can be printed an industry standard PDF file. The client was able to generate 700 page catalogs in no time.
